Terms of service

The rules for using alo.ne — simplified

Last updated · Apr 22, 2026·Privacy policy

Acceptance

By using alo.ne, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service. Creating an account, uploading a file, or sending a message all count as acceptance.

User conduct

Use alo.ne for lawful purposes and respect other users. Below is the non-exhaustive list of behaviour that will get an account removed.

Dashboard

  • Selling your account or account transfer (email aliases excluded — you can trade those freely).
  • Selling invite codes or trafficking them for paid access.

Email

  • Unsolicited outreach to government officials, law-enforcement agencies, or other state entities without their prior consent.
  • Spam in any form — bulk commercial email, phishing, mail-bombing, or abuse of aliasing to defeat anti-spam.
  • Probing or scanning attacks against us or anyone else from our infrastructure.

File host

  • Child sexual abuse material — zero tolerance.
  • Gore or non-consensual pornography of any form.

Prohibited content

Regardless of the service in use, the following content is never allowed on alo.ne:

CSAM is reported to NCMEC and the NCA immediately. Accounts are banned without notice and all encryption keys for the content are preserved for the report.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery (revenge porn, leaked private content).
  • Doxxing material — real names, addresses, phone numbers, or identity documents belonging to someone else.
  • Malware, exploit kits, cracked software paired with credential stealers.
  • Content intended to harass a specific person or group.

Enforcement

We don't proactively inspect your uploads or mailbox. We do act on valid reports and on behaviour that shows up in system telemetry (bounce rates, abuse flags from peers, rightsholder notices).

First-party enforcement actions, in rough order of severity:

  • Content removed, account preserved — for one-off violations resolved in good faith.
  • Feature access restricted — outbound email, file upload, or biolink publication paused.
  • Account suspended — login disabled pending an appeal.
  • Account banned — all services revoked. Data retained only to honour ongoing legal holds.

Every admin action lives in the internal admin log and is visible to staff reviewing appeals. Lawful-process actions additionally show up in the public transparency register on the privacy page.

Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes — scope of prohibited content, enforcement posture, data retention — will be announced in the dashboard changelog before they take effect. Minor edits (typo fixes, reorganisation) won't.

Continued use after an announced change means you accept the revised terms. If you don't accept, you're free to export your data and close your account.
